About Our School.... A commitment is a lifetime goal. Youree Drive Middle AP Magnet School is a neighborhood school with a nationally recognized commitment to excellence. This commitment is evidenced every day in an educational environment that has fostered a love for learning since 1959.
We are especially proud of the following accomplishments:
- The first middle school in this school system to be selected as an outstanding middle school by the U.S. Department of Education
- Winner of Shreveport Green's Clean Campus Hall of Fame Award
- Recipient of the National Grand Prize in Red Lobster's Earth to Kids Partnership in Presentation Contest
- Mayoral Proclamation declaring Youree Drive Middle School Day in Shreveport in recognition of environmental efforts
- Recipient of numerous grants and awards for commitment to the environment
- Participant in St. Jude's Math-a-thon donating an average of $3,000 annually to the charity
- Teachers of the Year in the CAE and Parish Middle School Recognition
