• Breakfast and lunch in the Gator cafeteria are free to all Captain Shreve students this school year. Stop in!
• Students, do not wear hoodies at any time this year. Hoods cannot be tucked into the shirt to hide them. Hoodies will be confiscated. No blankets. No hats or headgear are allowed in any of the buildings.
• Bus riders will enter and exit Gate 7 for pickup and drop-off. Only students riding CPSB transportation will be allowed through Gate 7. All other riders will need to be picked up and dropped off in the front circle of the school. All students will pass through the metal detectors in the morning. All check-ins must enter the cafeteria foyer to pass through the metal detectors.
• Students are not permitted to go to the vending machines during class time for any reason.
• Students, check the Shreveport Times Athlete of the Week site and vote for Captain Shreve athletes. Vote as many times as you can.
• Hey Gators! If you're interested in off-campus PE next year, stop by the office and get an application today! The deadline to submit the completed application is May 12.
• There will be an FCA meeting Friday, May 2, at 8:00 am in room A101. All students and staff members are welcome to attend.
• Students, you are not permitted to sell food items on campus at any time.
• Students: April is National School Library Month! We’re celebrating and READING and recognizing students who embrace our reading culture, so get out your books, newspapers, magazines and get caught reading!

From today until May 2 teachers will be giving out READING TICKETS– they’re like speeding tickets – but you can win a prize from our daily drawing as a reward for getting caught reading. If you get a reading ticket, bring it to the library and turn it in to enter our daily drawing for prizes.

• Attention all senior members of National Honor Society in good standing: NHS stoles for graduation can now be purchased at payschoolscentral.com. They are $26. Go to payschoolscentral.com and search for National Honor Society Stoles 2024-25 SENIORS to pay. Once you have paid, show your receipt to Mr. Long (starting on Wednesday, 4/16) in A108 to receive your stole. The deadline to pay and pick up your stole is May 2. Contact Mr. Long if you have any questions.
• Any current freshman girl who is interested in trying out for the softball team needs to stop by Coach Fant's classroom in A211 to receive paperwork for the free physical before the end of the week. Must have a current physical in order to tryout for the softball team.
• Any female interested in trying out for basketball for the 2025-26 school year needs to come talk to Coach Greene before school, at lunch or after school by Tuesday, May 6. You will need to bring a copy of your 3rd nine weeks report card with you as well.
• Library books are due for underclassmen Friday, May 2. Notices for fines and overdue or lost books will go out the week of May 5 and underclassmen will be on the debt list for those items.
• Billy Walker with AIE (Academy of Interactive Entertainment) will be on campus Friday, May 9th for both lunch shifts. If you are interested in art, film, programming, game/film development, swing by.
• Juniors! Tickets for Ring Ceremony are on sale now through May 5. Each junior will be able to register for 2 free tickets and purchase 2 additional tickets at $10 each. No late tickets will be sold. See Mrs. Garcia for more information.
• Students, food, and drinks are not permitted in the classrooms.
