When? Regular school hours
Who? 8th grade students and teachers only

 

Tuesday, May 16th - 8th Grade Ceremony

Where? Broadmoor Baptist Church
When? 1:00 p.m. - Students must be present by 12:30 p.m.
Who? Two guests per student (per Fire Marshall guidelines), admittance only with a ticket.  Tickets will be given to students on May 15th or can be picked up in the office.   Tickets will be signed for upon pickup, no tickets will be replaced if lost.

 

Dress Code for Ceremony

Dress Code for Boys:

  • Dress shoes – no backless shoes or flip-flops
  • Pants –You may wear school appropriate uniform pants or slacks
  • Shirt – a tucked in collared dress shirt or polo-type shirt.
  • A pullover sweater or sweater vests are appropriate.
  • No t-shirts, jeans, or shorts permitted.

Dress Code for Girls:

  • Dress shoes or sandals – no heels over 2 inches, or backless shoes.
  • Pants –You may wear school appropriate uniform pants or slacks.
  • Shirt – Polo-styled shirts or blouses (blouses may not be see-through, halter or spaghetti straps).
  • Skirts and dresses – no shorter than 4 inches above the top of the knee. Dresses may not be see-through, expose the midriff or shoulder (no halter or spaghetti strap – ID width), be low-cut or excessively tight.  Leggings may be worn with an appropriate top (use fingertips as a guide).
  • No t-shirts, jeans, or shorts permitted.

Students will not be allowed to participate in any 8th grade celebrations if they have any of the following discipline or academic infractions:

  • Missing signed behavior contract
  • Library fines 
  • School fees
  • Failing 8th grade for the year
  • Failing 1 or more class for the 4th 9 weeks
  • Discipline (1 or more days of Out-of-school suspension, 3 or more days of In-school-suspension).
  • Attendance (5 or more unexcused absences)
  • STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED ALL LEAP 2025 TESTING. 

 

Students will receive an invitation if they have not breached the behavior contract.  If there is a breach, students will receive an explanation letter and the infraction must be addressed before students will receive an invitation. Behavior infractions cannot be reversed, therefore the student will not receive an invitation.
