Science in Action 🚀🎳
Our 6th grade Spartan scientists explored velocity in a hands-on way using a bowling ball in the hallway! Students sat on either side of the hall while the ball started at rest, showing static friction with balanced forces.
When a student pushed it, the forces became unbalanced and the ball moved switching to dynamic friction. As the ball rolled past, students gave it a perpendicular push, which changed both its direction and speed.
And just like that… Tadah! 🎉 Velocity in action!

Today, our Spartans had the special opportunity to learn about the Constitution and the importance of civic duty from two incredible community leaders. A big thank you to Sheriff Deputy & Bailiff Candance Applewhite and Judge Karelia R. Stewart, First Judicial District Court, for speaking with our students and helping us celebrate Constitution Day!
