You can pick them up before school starts on either of these days:
- Monday from 3:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
If you don't pick up your pack, it will be delivered to your child's homeroom on Wednesday. Just make sure they bring an empty backpack to school that day to put their supplies in.
A friendly reminder: These were pre-orders only, and there are no extra packs available for purchase. We can't wait to see you all on Wednesday!


To ensure students are ready for classroom activities with their Chromebooks, please remember:
✅ ALLOWED: Basic, corded earbuds. These are on the school supply list!
🚫 NOT ALLOWED: All other headphones are not permitted at school. This includes AirPods, Beats (even with a cord), and any other over-the-ear style headphones.

Good news! 🥳 The homeroom teacher lists are POSTED at the front of the school! 🏫 Make sure to check them out before Tuesday, August 12th. This list will show you your student's first-hour teacher.
Here's the plan for the first day of school:
6th Graders: Please report to the gym! 🤸♀️ Your teacher will meet you there and take you to your new classroom.
7th & 8th Graders: You can go directly to your homeroom. You'll get your complete schedule there. 🧑🏫
Don't worry about getting lost! We'll have awesome student helpers 🙋♂️🙋♀️ all day to guide you to your classes.


Parent Notes Limit: Parents may submit up to three (3) parent notes per semester to excuse absences due to illness.
Maximum Excused Days: A total of three (3) days per semester may be excused with parent notes. 1st semester 8/17-12/17. 2nd semester 1/6-5/21
Submission Deadline: Parent notes must be submitted within three (3) days of the student's return to school.

Parents and Students of Youree Drive Middle School, it's time to get ready for 2025-2026! 📚 To help you plan your shopping efficiently, here is our comprehensive Uniform Policy.
Please refer to the graphic below for a clear visual guide to all approved tops , bottoms (specifically khaki and navy colors for pants, shorts, and skirts), and outerwear options. Our policy is designed to create a focused and respectful atmosphere for all students.
Please pay special attention to these important points:
- School IDs are mandatory and must be worn at all times.
- When selecting outerwear, remember it must be a solid color and absolutely NO hoods are allowed.
- For footwear, please note that Crocs and are NOT permitted.
- And a quick check for skirts, skorts, and shorts – they should be no shorter than 4 inches from the top of the knee.
- Please remember that any non-YDMS logos on tops or outerwear cannot be larger than two inches.

Hi everyone! I'm a proud graduate and former athlete from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and I grew up right here in the Shreveport/Bossier area. I'll be teaching 7th grade ELA this year, and I'm looking forward to a great year!

- Teachers may request additional supplies specific to their content area throughout the year.
- Elective teachers will share their supply lists during the first week of school.
- Backpacks must be clear or mesh. Rolling backpacks are not permitted.
- Please ensure your earbuds/headphones are wired (no Beats, Airpods, or similar wireless devices are allowed).

Hello, I'm Keisha McCarthy. I graduated from Wiley College and have been in Caddo Parish for 13 years, with the last four specifically at YDMS. I'm excited to continue in my role as a Mild/Moderate teacher. Looking forward to a great year—Go Spartans!


With 15 years in education, I'm a passionate teacher who has spent the last five years in Caddo Parish. I graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a degree in English Education and a minor in Spanish. I've previously taught at Turner Elementary/Middle School and Huntington High School, with a focus on English Language Learner (ELL) students, and I'm dedicated to helping students succeed.


All water fountains have water bottle refill stations. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle each day. Reusable drink containers are allowed provided that they have a lid. No glass bottles allowed.
Pro Tip: Write your child’s name on bottoms of bottle.

Electronic Devices Policy for the 25-26 School Year
All electronic devices should be turned off and stowed away in backpacks prior to entry at the front doors into campus for the instructional day. Devices are not considered “stowed away” in students’ pockets, hands, purses, or visible locations. If the electronic device is visible outside of the backpack, it will be confiscated. Students may use electronic devices at the end of the instructional day after dismissal at 3:25 p.m.

I'm thrilled to be joining the Youree Drive Middle School family this year as a Physical Education teacher and an assistant football and tennis coach.
